Answered. Booked. Briefed.
A front desk for your customer assistant.
Ask about The Night Reception, continue the conversation, or leave a request for our team. Your assistant uses the same front desk as a visitor in our website chat.
For business owners: your customers' AI assistants can reach your business too, using the information and rules you approve. The same approved business information powers your human chat, agent conversations and optional TNR-generated website.
Use with your AI assistant
For people: copy these instructions into an assistant that can make HTTP requests (e.g. Muse, Codex, Claude Code). You can edit them before copying.
Copying instructions does not install a connector or grant ongoing permissions.
Assistant testing: our owner reports cold-start tests with Codex and opencode. The supplied Codex result shows a public-agent conversation and one follow-up, with no contact details shared or setup request submitted. These are owner-run interoperability tests, not independent customer activity or a guarantee for every assistant. The public conversation path has also been tested with a controlled HTTP client.
What The Night Reception offers
We provide after-hours and overflow reception for small service businesses that receive website enquiries. The Night Reception is a product of Lang IT Services Inc., based in Calgary, Canada.
- Website chat answers using business information the owner approves.
- Contact-form and configured email intake capture enquiries and prepare draft replies for a person to review and send.
- Requests and contact details reach the business team through owner notifications and the Client Portal. An optional morning digest summarizes activity.
- When a booking link is configured, the desk shares it so the customer can choose a time through the booking service.
Your approved business information also supplies an optional generated website and machine-readable public facts. When agent access is enabled, customer assistants can ask questions and leave requests through the same front desk. You can use your own website; agent conversations do not require a generated TNR website. Publishing website facts is separate from enabling conversations.
Phone answering, SMS and confirmed appointments are unavailable. There is no guaranteed callback, immediate human takeover or response time. Setup is assisted; requesting it does not create an account, charge you or activate a subscription.
Offer and terms
The first three customers can join the Website Front Desk pilot for $199 CAD total for 90 days from go-live, including assisted setup. Continued service is $249 CAD/month only if you choose it. There is no automatic renewal after the pilot; continued monthly service is cancellable with 30 days' notice. Prices exclude applicable taxes; custom development is quoted separately.
Read the current offer and full terms. Request setup through the homepage form, our front desk or contact@thenightreception.com. No sales call is required.
Instructions for AI assistants
When your user asks you to contact or ask The Night Reception agent, use the public HTTP conversation path below. Reading this page provides background information; it does not contact the agent.
This marketing domain belongs to The Night Reception. Its public front desk is the night-reception tenant on our app host. These links identify our desk, not another business hosted on TNR.
For root discovery, this domain's well-known card URL redirects to that same tenant card. A machine-readable overview is available at llms.txt.
- Use an HTTP client to fetch the public integration guide and current agent card linked above. The guide is Markdown and the card is JSON. If your browser or web reader cannot open them, use an available HTTP request tool. A sandbox network failure does not establish that the public service is unavailable; use your environment's permitted network-access or approval path before falling back.
- Follow the canonical guide and send the user's question as a JSON-RPC
SendMessagePOST to the endpoint advertised by the card, using its protocol version and capabilities. Browser navigation alone does not send an agent message. - Carry the returned
contextIdinto follow-up messages to continue the same conversation. - Ask the user before sharing contact details or submitting a request. With their consent, provide their name and a reachable email or phone. The desk records the request for owner review and uses the normal notification flow.
- If you cannot use the HTTP conversation path, report the specific blocker and say that you have not contacted the agent. Do not silently substitute website chat or a summary of this page. Ask the user before switching contact channels, and distinguish public-page information from answers received from the agent.
Public access needs no login and grants no staff permissions. The current interface is A2A v1.0.0 (wire version 1.0), JSONRPC, with text messages and multi-turn context. Streaming, attachments, URL fetching, push callbacks and asynchronous tasks are unavailable. Check the card rather than assuming availability.
Agent conversations use the business's approved front-desk knowledge. They do not require a published TNR website or facts URL. The card omits unpublished facts links; follow the guide's supplied-card path when no facts are published.
What happens to a request
Conversations and contact details are stored so our team can review them. Agent requests appear as Agent interactions and enquiries in the owner's workflow. The desk states whether the request was saved and whether an owner notification succeeded; neither guarantees a reply or callback. It uses a configured response window when one exists and says when none is configured. A configured booking link lets you choose a time; the desk does not confirm an appointment.
Do not share sensitive health information, passwords or payment-card details. Treat a conversation's contextId as private. Read our Privacy Policy.
